Ingredients
- 180g Riverina Dairy Cyprus Style Reduced Fat Haloumi
- 1/4 cup plain flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup panko crumbs
- Oil
Crispy Panko Haloumi Cubes
- Cut haloumi into large bite sized chunks.
- Place flour on a plate.
- Crack eggs into a small bowl and whisk briefly.
- Spread panko crumbs onto a separate plate.
- Coat each haloumi chunk with flour. Dip each chunk into egg, ensuring all sides are coated. Then coat cubes in the panko crumb.
Deep Fry
- Use a small saucepan and add 3cm of oil. Heat oil on high heat until cubes sizzle when added. Fry for 2 minutes or until golden.
Shallow Fry
- Heat a small-medium frying pan to medium-high. Add a 1/2cm of oil to coat the base.
- Once hot, add your haloumi pieces. Use tongs to turn each piece gently as they become golden brown on each side.
Arrange onto a plate. Serve with a small bowl of your favourite tomato salsa or chutney if desired. Dig in immediately, while your haloumi is still oozy and warm. Enjoy!
